Today Ryan and Amanda were united in marriage. I am so excited for them both. Their reception area looked beautiful. Each table had a beautiful picture of the two of them in her chosen colors of red and turquoise.
They are such a special couple!
Congratulations! We're wishing you both happiness, peace, and God's grace in your marriage!
Psalm 139:14
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, my soul knows it very well.

His...
Ryan's cake was a dense and rich carrot cake with cream cheese icing.
His cake is encrusted with pecans. The top of Ryan's cake sports his Alma Mater, A&M as do some of the chocolate covered strawberries around his cake. The top of the cake also has a gold state of Texas.
Very traditional and handsome.
Hers...
Amanda chose a cupcake cake for her wedding cake. All cupcakes were a french vanilla with a swirl of traditional bridal white butter cream on top. Adorned on each of the 230 cupcakes is a turquoise sugar paste flower. Each cupcake is also sprinkled with European edible glitter.
The top tier of her cake which will be saved for their first anniversary is a two layered moist french vanilla, iced with butter cream and then rolled fondant. Sugar Paste forms a layered ribbon with turquoise behind the red and the cake is adorned with a red sugar paste bow. The bow is special, in the center is a opalescent jewel made with the European edible glitter and French Dragees.
Amanda wanted the traditional cake cutting ceremony, so I made a small 5 inch single layered cake for Ryan and her to cut and feed one another- as husband and wife. How romantic are weddings!

Happy Birthday Sam and Ellie...
These two cakes are for twins turning three. They are in my daughter's Sunday School class, and are just so super sweet.
The princess cake is for Ellie, she is such a girlie girl. Rare is the Sunday when she isn't wearing pink sparkly shoes. Her cake is a classic vanilla cake with butter cream filling and iced butter cream and then rolled fondant. Everything on Ellie's cake is edible including her royal crown!
Sam's cake is a different kettle of fish. Sam is such a little man and likes all things that go. His cake is chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream, and topped with a "digger" sittin in the grass taking a break. The digger is a fully functioning FUN TOY! It even has sound effects, so although Ellie will get to eat her topper Sam can play with his!
Happy Birthday Sam and Ellie- I hope you have a very fun day!

Test Drive...
So this week I am preparing for the big wedding! I did a test grooms cake to see about painting the fondant Texas gold. I love it! It really really is gold. This week I'll also make the test drive to the reception location- to time it! I'm so excited for the couple, our wedding was such a wonderful day. And the best party I've ever been to (if I can say so without sounding tacky:)
I know Amanda and Ryan are going to have an amazing day, and for sure amazing cake! :)
This is a dense carrot cake with cream cheese icing, encrusted with chopped pecans. The state of Texas is made of fondant, and A&M is in dark chocolate.
Jason is going to take this decadent cake to work with him tomorrow. I can't live with anything that tastes this good, it would wake me up in the middle of the night calling me. (I know that I've mentioned my sweet tooth before:)

To Celebrate with Family...

Vroom Vroom Vroom...
Marye is having a party at the race track. How fun is that. She is also turning 10 years old. That is a big deal, it is officially double digits, which you stay till you hit 100!
She wanted a cupcake cake that matched her invitation. She especially liked the race car. So, she's got half chocolate cupcakes, and half vanilla with a swirl of butter cream on each, and glitter of course. I also made a cute little fondant race car that replicates the one on her invitation. You can't see it from the picture, but the front license plate has her initials M.S. and the back plate has her last name!
Happy Birthday Marye, I hope you have a fun day!!!

Lucy's Monkey Bizness...
Lucy is having her 7th birthday party at Monkey Bizness, and wanted her cake to match the monkey on the invitation in a pink T-shirt. So that's what she got!
Lucy also loves carrot cake (my kind of girl) so this dense carrot cake is iced in a rich cream cheese icing. The monkey however, is in butter cream, and the little hair bow on the monkey is fondant with a dollop of butter cream in the center sprinkled with disco glitter so it looks very sparkly and girlie!
Happy Birthday Lucy, I hope you have fun monkey-ing around!

It's A Girl...
It's a GIRL! This is cake is to celebrate the upcoming birth of a little bitty girl! Goodness, I love newborn babies. There just really isn't anything sweeter, I'm sure!
The cake is for a couples shower so the invitations were very chic in a bright pink and white. The friends didn't want too cutesy pie because men will be there, but still very girlie.
It is a rich vanilla cake with all traditional butter cream icing. I coordinated the pink with the invitation, and did scroll work on the bottom tier and Swiss dots on the top. The top tier is adorned in fondant flowers, and a chic carriage that I made of fondant!
Happy Baby Shower Day!

I LOVE this cake...
I love love love this cake. I'm allowed favorites right? This cake is just so perfect to me. The size is a small 5" round that will serve 8-10 people. It is for a small birthday celebration and I was asked to go for a garden theme.
This is a very light vanilla cake with strawberry filling, covered in butter cream, and then in rolled fondant.
The top of this cake is covered in edible fondant flowers and leaves. I had so much fun making these flowers. The only non-edible decoration is the little butterfly. I couldn't decide if I should add a not edible decoration, but in the end it went so well with the cake I had too!
I hope the birthday girl loves this cake as much as me. I want one for my birthday! :)

1st Grade... Seriously???
I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!! Tomorrow is my baby's last day of kindergarten. Where has the year gone? Seriously, she was only born like a week ago it seems.
It has been an AMAZING first year of school for her. Her teacher Mrs. Grizzell has been outstanding and has met every possible expectation of the perfect teacher, and them some. Grace has enjoyed every minute of kindergarten, and for that I am forever thankful!
To celebrate, I've got a cupcake for each and everyone of the 72 kindergartners at Meadow Wood. C'mon you gotta celebrate the last day of school right? :)
To be fair on the teachers, they are all vanilla with a swirl of classic butter cream icing. Each cupcake is dusted with some disco glitter, and adorned with a royal icing summer fish, turtle, starfish, or octopus.
Summer is here! Enjoy your children at home!
Here comes the bride...
Rani is coming over today to taste test cakes. She is considering me to make her wedding cakes. Her bridal cake and his grooms cake.
She is thinking a dense carrot cake for her three tiered traditional bridal cake. It will be beautiful. He wants a chocolate chunk cake with a creamy chocolate frosting on his two tiered square cake, with luscious chocolate covered strawberry's cascading down.
I've made two taste testers, one of each. We'll eat cake while we visit, and discuss options. Who doesn't eat cake when faced with such big decisions :)
