Chugga Chugga Choo Choo...

Little Luke's no longer two!
Happy Birthday Luke!
Luke loves, trains, planes, and automobiles. If I could have fit a car on this cake I'm sure it would have made his day, but I think it might have been crowded!
Hopefully he'll be delighted with his train and airplane!

This is a moist french vanilla cake with butter cream icing between the layers, and covered in fondant icing. All decor on the cake is edible, and the back caboose of the train even has three presents in honor of Luke's Third Birthday!

It's a Girl Thing...

Campbell wanted a Purple-icious cake too! Her cake has helped theme this soon to be three year old little girl's birthday...

Purple Cake, Purple Playdoh, Purple Balloons, and a Purple Outfit. How fun is that!

Happy 3rd Birthday Campbell!

Pucker Up Buttercup...

I think this is such a lovely cake!

It is for a lady who is leaving her current job and moving on. The women she works with have asked that a cake be made to celebrate her new endeavors!

They didn't have a particular idea of what they'd like, so I asked about her.

"She is very feminine, Bright, and loves Jewelry" I think this cake is very feminine, bright, and it is full of bling. See all of those wonderful, and colorful little french dragees. Not to mention the sparkle on the top (courtesy from a sister in law in England - who loves cakes too)
The cake board is covered in a jewel toned pink fancy foil, just because I really liked it!

Now for the important part- this cake is a dark chocolate cake with raspberry filling and classic butter cream icing!

Are you ready for some Football...

This cake is for a little boy who LOVES football! I hope he loves his cake!

This is a vanilla cake with classic butter cream icing and fondant accents.

Happy Birthday Jack!

Happy Birthday Pastor Steve!

Our Pastor ROCKS! Literally, he is very musical. He always sings in the choir, more than once has brought his acoustic guitar to help illustrate during the children's message (which is a huge hit in our family) and he plays the drums!

This is my very loose interpretation of a drum kit! I hope it makes him smile! This is a dense butter cake with creamy milky chocolate icing. Everything is edible, including drum kit, bench and cymbal.

Happy Birthday Pastor Steve Simon! With much love, The Hare Family

I love Cream Cakes...

So, my husband is English. Not British, English...

I love England, on our last trip one of my favorite mornings was a quick trip into a small village outside of Brighton along the coast.

Jason took our two oldest to play a game of crazy golf and the baby and I decided to wander around the village.

I stumbled onto this tiny itty bitty tea cottage, and I literally had to leave my umbrella stroller outside at the gate before the walkway to get inside (itty bitty...)

They had the most amazing cream cakes, scones, jam, clotted cream, and of course tea. Pots and pots of tea! It was wonderful and the ladies in there were so super sweet and accommodated an American woman with a baby and used to much more space!

It was a wonderful morning, and I did enjoy having a whole slice of cake to myself, and a scone with jam and cream, and a couple of cups of tea- while they were still hot! BLISS!

This cake is a cream cake, a moist sponge cake with a strawberry filling between each layer, and covered in cream (Yummy Cream) This is a little bit of a variation, I'm sure my beloved cottage in England didn't have chocolate ganache on top, but I'm really loving ganache these days!

We've got Spirit...

Take Two...

This is the second time I've made this cake, only this time it is for my very special Great Aunt Martha's birthday!
This cake is dense chocolate cake with raspberry filling and milky chocolate icing.
Hopefully you didn't have to grow up in South East Texas to appreciate this story, but when I was about 5 my Great Grandfather "PaPaw" let me pick one of his chickens as mine. Well, I picked the rooster, and named him Martha, because I loved her that much!

Happy Birthday Aunt Martha! I love you.
